How the Game Works

This competition is unpredictable. There could be just one assignment before an elimination or there could be 3 assignments before an elimination – anything can happen at any time. Below, read all about how the competition works!

Assignments

Assignments give contestants an opportunity to win money towards the group bank. However, in some assignments, mistakes or other penalties will lead to money going into the Virtual Mole’s bank.

Quizzes

When the host decides it’s time for the quiz, contestants are individually sent a message and answer questions about who they think is the Virtual Mole. The contestant who scores the lowest on the quiz is immediately eliminated from the game. Each quiz is timed, so if there is a tie for the lowest score, the contestant in the tie to take the longest time to submit their quiz will be eliminated.

Eliminations

The contestant who comes last in a quiz and reveals they know the least about the identity of the Virtual Mole is eliminated from the game. With contestants expecting the unexpected, an elimination can happen at any time and there is no predictable structure dictating when this can happen.

Freebies

A freebie is a token that allows the holder to correct a wrong answer on a quiz. Contestants can determine at which quiz they use their freebie, but each freebie can only be used once. If a contestant chooses to use it, then a question that was answered incorrectly on the quiz will be counted as a correct answer.

Exemptions

This is a sought after token and allows a contestant a one-off chance to avoid the next quiz and elimination. An exemption, however, can come at a cost to the holder before it can be played.

Virtual Diaries

Every contestant is required to fill out a ‘Virtual Diary’. This is their bible and allows them to type out every thought they have about challenges, contestants and who they think is the Virtual Mole.

"Mole-ing"

This is a term used to describe a contestant who is engaging in what others think is ‘Mole-like’ behavior, but not necessarily considered the true Virtual Mole. If a contestant thwarts the group’s attempt to raise money during an assignment they are said to be ‘mole-ing’. They are trying to distract others from figuring out who is the true Virtual Mole.

Who Can You Trust?

The Mole is a hugely successful television concept that has been played around the world since 1999. It’s been labelled the smartest show of its kind because it relies on intelligence and skill to win. In this game of strategy and intrigue, mental strength is just as important as physical ability.

In Virtual Mole, contestants must work together as a group and perform challenges to earn money that adds to a winner’s bank. But among them is a saboteur - one of them is covertly trying to make the group fail – that person is the Virtual Mole. One by one the contestants are eliminated from the game based on their ability to identify the Virtual Mole. If one of the final players correctly identifies the Virtual Mole they win the entire cash bank.

We cast a variety of different people, from different places and are different ages. Among them, opinions may be divided, prejudices entrenched and old habits hard to break, but they must work as a team to achieve their own individual aims. In Virtual Mole all contestants are thinking the same thing – Who Can You Trust?
